Fish Smarter by Using the Tools
You've got the tools but are you getting the most out of them? That GPS

Fishing guides are paid to take anglers to locations that hold fish. After
that it's up to the angler and the guide to fish them as they choose. Fly fishing,
wade
fishing, lake fishing, offshore fishing, catch and release fishing. They're all
ways we anglers love to play. And none of them are nearly as rewarding if we

locations that hold fish.
There Are Not That Many Secret Spots
Guides fish proven fishing locations in the areas they work. Most of these
'hotspots' or 'honey holes' have been there since our
grandparents fished. This is not new and it's not rocket science. The guide you pay
knows where to fish because either someone else showed them the spot, they found
it on a map, book or magazine or they stumbled on it by accident. And all of the
guides I've fished with in the last few years had this information loaded on their

How Can You Find Fish Like the Guides Do?
To find fish like the guides you need to study the fishing maps
and determine which areas hold fish for the season and wind direction on the
days you plan to fish. Most fishing maps have a chart that shows this
information along with the type of fish you're most likely to catch in a given
location. Once you've determined where the fish probably are for the days you'll
be fishing, look up the tides for that area to know when they'll be feeding. Now
it's as simple as visiting the likely spots during tidal movement to catch the
fish. Of course this is a simplistic approach, you will also need to find the
areas that are holding bait, but with this approach you will have eliminated the
water that probably won't hold fish. And to make this entire process as easy as
